(trying to get ready to pick up my son from school)
Mama:  You ready to go for a ride?
3-year-old daughter:  On elephants?
Mama:  Um...no, we're going to get your brother.
3-year-old daughter:  Can we take the elephants?

(leaving the store in one of those race car carts)
five-year-old son to 18-month-old daughter:  You know?  You were driving like crazy the whole time...
(We were driving back from the store when my three-year-old daughter dropped something.)
three-year-old daughter:  Mama, can you get it?  Please?
Mama:  Let me park, and I'll find it for you.
three-year-old daughter:  Parking is for chumps!

(as we pulled into the parking lot at a local pharmacy)
3-year-old daughter: Do they have pigeon books here?
Mama: No, I don't think they do.
3-year-old daughter: Then what good are they?
